In connection to the imminent construction of 40 new and modern rooms the hotel board and direction have chosen to ask 3 of the leading architectural firms to draw a visionary masterplan for the hotel.

The 3 firms chosen are: "Friis & Moltke", "Arkitema" and "Årstiderne" - The deadline for the presentation of the proposals were set forth to the hotel board and management at Nyborg Strand by the august meeting 2008.

The idea behind the bidding contest is to ensure and manifest that the hotel will also serve as the central meeting point in Denmark in the future by a healthy consolidation and consideration of the future of the hotel. By extension, the hotel has bought a ideally located plot (25.000 m2) by the freeway (Hjulby) in the new business area of Nyborg 3 km from the hotel.

The 3 propositions were all very visionary and exciting. 2 of the firms were indeed very concrete in their bids and after an exciting day with subsequent discussions the choise fell on "Friis & Moltke" as the bid that the hotel will continue with.
