Helle Baslund lives and works on Hindsholm, by Gabet just north of Kerteminde, where the sea and the surrounding nature inspire her every day. She studied at the Jutland Art Academy in Aarhus from 1981 to 1986 under Vibeke Klint, Lene Helmer Nielsen and Anette Holdensen.
She has exhibited at a number of Danish art institutions, including Charlottenborg Autumn Exhibition, Kunstnernes Hus in Aarhus, Filosofgangen in Odense, Aalborg Art Pavilion, Himmerland Art Museum, Vejen Art Museum, Gl. Holtegaard and Den Frie Centre of Contemporary Art.

In Krat, she explores the many possibilities of tapestry as an artistic medium. She creates a delicate balance between the tactile quality of the woven material and the visual expression, without telling a specific story.
