Janne Klerk

Janne Klerk (b. 1953)

Janne Klerk is a self-taught photographer with a particular focus on colour, light, and weather. She works primarily with landscape and architectural photography for exhibitions and publications. She has illustrated a number of books, participated in the photographic project Denmark in Transformation (2008–2009), and has been a member of the artists' association Corner since 2008.

Klerk has also been a guest student at the Audiovisual Department of the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, worked in the Danish film industry, and spent 16 years at the Danish Art Workshops (Statens Værksteder for Kunst). Since 1995, she has focused on her own exhibitions, public commissions, and book illustrations in collaboration with authors.

The Danish art historian Hans Edvard Nørregård-Nielsen, who served as Director of the New Carlsberg Foundation from 1988 to 2013 and was an adjunct professor of art history at Aarhus University, recommended Janne Klerk as a contributing artist for Nyborg Strand.
